3 Year Anniversary

Today is my 3 Year Anniversary of working at Buckley AFB!!! It is amazing how fast time flies when you are having fun! So, today I went to a Rockies Baseball game with co-workers. I thought that was a pretty fitting way to celebrate, don't you? We did not go to the game just for me, but it was a nice coincidence that the game fell on the same day as my anniversary. Anyway, here is a couple pictures from the game:

This guy just came over and signed autographs! He was standing right in front of me like 2 feet away, so it totally looks like he was signing an autograph for me!

So, tonight I went straight from the baseball game to coach my 4-year old soccer team... we totally kicked some booty! It was fun and the kids are cute. Then I went straight from that to go visit some less actives in the ward... 4 people and 4 not home (actually I think they were home, they just didn't answer!) Anyway, it is always fun to go out visiting with friends from the ward.

Deal Of The Day

Happy Wednesday Everyone! So, Monday was my day off, so I went shopping! Kohls was having a sale and you got an additional 15% off if you used your Kohls card. Well, I’ve wanted a Kitchen Aid Mixer for a long while now and Kohls was selling it at a pretty decent price. It is the 6-Quart mixer that generally retails for $499.99. Well, they were selling it for $399.99 and with an additional 15% off it would make it $340.00. I did some looking and that is about the best price you can get unless you want a refurbished one. So, I went into Kohls Monday and discovered they had no other mixers left except for the ones on display. Well, turns out that you get an additional 15% off if it is a model, so I ended up paying $280.00 for my mixer- good deal, huh? Oh wait, that’s not all! If I had bought one in the case I could have gotten a free, mail-in-rebate, attachment. Well, I didn’t have the paperwork for the free attachment so they just gave me the shredder/slicer ($40 value) attachment for free! Got to love that. I was pretty excited about the whole thing- I love good deals! I tried to post a picture... but blogger is being dumb! Sorry! Well, tonight is one of those rare occasions where I didn’t have anything planned after work. So, I went to the gym and now I’m blogging. Katie and I are going to have an ideal party in a second… so laters!

UTAH TRIP

Hello, Hello! So, I just spent a wonderful weekend in Utah. I took Friday off work and caught a ride with Laredo Branch friends to Utah, since they were going there for Conference. I then hooked up with previous co-workers who now work at Hill AFB and did dinner with them. It was good to see them again. My friends dropped me off at Jessica’s where I spent Friday night.

Saturday I got to spend time with Rylee and Tayler before we headed out to Mom’s house once Jessica got home from work. We then attempted to watch the Saturday afternoon session of Conference- you know how well that works when there are kids around and visiting going on! After conference and chilling for awhile we headed up to Leatherby’s for dinner and some good ice cream! It was fun to hang out with Mom, Jess, Katie, Tayler and Rylee!

TEMPLE SQUARE

Sunday we got to enjoy the morning session with Jared and Katie before they headed back to Colorado. Mom and I then attempted to watch the afternoon session, but again, I did not succeed- a nap won out this time! After conference we had our obligatory Scrabble match which I won! Don’t worry, we played again on Monday and Mom won that game, so it is all tied up!

Monday was just a fun, relaxing, kind of a day. Mom and I had a great time hanging out and running errands and going shopping! Jess met up with us for a few minutes at Kohls after work before having to fight rush hour to get back to her kids. I’m glad she came even if it was just for a few minutes! I had to catch my flight back to Colorado by 7:00pm, so Mom dropped me off at the airport at 6:00pm and then headed on home. Jared picked me up from the airport and we made it back to the apartment by 10:00pm.
