This past weekend, March 25-27, I went to Glenwood Springs for a mini vacation. It was just the three of us and it was wonderful! Carrie, Marlies, and I headed to Glenwood (about 2-1/2 hours outside of Denver) on Friday afternoon and came home Sunday morning. We stayed at a little motel that was not the nicest place I've ever stayed, but definitely not the worst place either.
Friday we went to dinner at a delicious BBQ place and then we were just lazy that evening. Saturday was a fun-packed day of playing in the snow and then sitting in the 104 degree hot spring! We went skiing at Sunlight Ski Resort and it was awesome. Since it snowed on Friday there was 5 inches of fresh powder and it was quite a warm day with no wind. Yes, even I was warm skiing... it was amazing!
The Spa of the Rockies was heavenly. It is a huge pool that is a natural hot spring. We enjoyed that for a good 2 hours before heading back to the motel and being lazy by watching a movie.
It really was a fabulous weekend and it could not have been better timing. I enjoyed beautiful Colorado with a couple of great friends. I am spoiled. Life is good!
