Fabulous Get-a-way and Spuds

Last weekend was the second annual trip to Glenwood Springs... it was fabulous! Glenwood Springs is about 3 hours away from Denver, so you definitely have to make a weekend out it which is exactly what Marlies, Carrie, Lesley, and I did! We left later on Friday night and arrived at the condo around 11pm.  This condo, while not the nicest place I've ever stayed at (in fact, I convinced myself that I was camping and then I was okay with it!), was the absolutely most perfect location.  The condos were built on the same mountain as the ski resort, so we literally put on our skis and skiied down to the ski lift!  When we took a break for lunch it was so nice to simply ski to the condo! Awesome!

Attempting to be fancy and ski backwards... we were on a green run, so nothing too trecherous!

After a day of skiing we relaxed in the condo for a bit, then we headed down to Glenwood for dinner before going to the hot springs.  Glenwood is known for the football field length natural hot spring... it was wonderful!  Nothing better than soaking in the nice warm water after a day on the mountain! It was a nice relaxing, wonderful weekend!

I don't know if I have mentioned it before, but a couple months ago I was called as the Activities Co-Chair in my ward.  It is a great calling, especially since the other Co-Chair is awesome so that makes it easier.  It is a super busy calling though since there is always something going on in the singles ward!  Last night we held a Spudwood Derby.  Some of the spuds turned out pretty cute!

Some spuds were a little on the wobbly side!

Some spuds were a bit quicker than others!

In addition to making tater cars I had the Wii set up so people could play Mario Kart, we had remote control cars for racing, and we had cards so people could play speed.  It was really a night at the races! It was a fun evening.

This morning I held a brunch at my house since Darrin and Angela were in town.  Jared, Katie, and the boys came over and we had a lovely meal and a nice visit.  I think it has been over 10 years since I have seen Darrin and Angela, so it was about time! I'm sure I will see them more often now since Angela will be attending school here come August.

Well, that is it for me.  Enjoy your day tomorrow for all of you who get President's Day off! I really miss working for the government.

Sounds like a great weekend get away!! The comment about the condo is funny. Really that bad? :) being able to ski right to the lift from the condo would be awesome. The hot springs sound heavenly!
Also, you are one kick butt activities chair. Way to go!
