March 1-3, 2013 Glenwood Springs
I love the annual Trip to Glenwood Springs. It has become a tradition to spend a weekend in this great Colorado town to enjoy some great skiing, the hot springs, and great company. We rented a cute cabin which was built for elves I think- everything seemed miniature! Those who came on the trip this year were Marlies, Carrie, Heather, Renee, Deanna, and me. Good times!
March 15-17, 2013 Moab Half Marathon
I went with my good friend Cami to Moab to run the half marathon. Crazy! I used Insanity to get me ready for this race. Seriously, I think I went running about 4 times total before the race. I didn't do great, but I can't really be too hard on myself since I didn't train too much. I came in at 2 hours exactly.
After the race we went and explored Arches National Park. I love the red rock!
March 31, 2013 Easter Sunday
I had Easter dinner with Renee and the girls in the awesome house. Gwen even put together a little Easter egg hunt for us. So fun!
June 8, 2013 Frisco 10K
This was the 4th time I have run this race. It is definitely one of my favorites... such a gorgeous run through the mountains and right along side a creek. Oh, and the entire 6.2 miles is downhill. Got to love that! This year I even recruited some others to do it with me. I am so blessed to have great friends! We spent the night at the Grave's cabin so we didn't have to wake up at 3am. The only thing I packed for this overnight trip was athletic gear- got to love that! After the race Renee, Bishop, Sister Graves, and I played some tennis and then enjoyed a picnic in an awesome mountain setting. It was a fun weekend! I missed my goal time, but I did alright... I came in at 51:02.

July 13, 2013 Good luck Gwen!
So sad that the Awesome house is depleting rapidly. Erika moved to Haiti earlier this year and Gwen moved to Utah. Always sad to say good-bye to friends.
August 2, 2013 "Hey, Come Look At My Dumb Kid!"
Warning: The picture below is pretty nasty, so if you get sick easily you may want to avoid scrolling down.
I'm sure Dad would be saying, "Hey, come look at my dumb kid!" if he were here right now. I definitely had one of those moments on Friday night. I may have had a little run in with an escalator and the escalator won!
Here is the story:
A friend invited us downtown on Friday night to see the new movie "Wolverine" in celebration of her birthday the day before. We went to the 16th street mall theater. Previews just started when the fire alarm went off. We all calmly file out of the theater and wait for about 20 minutes before they let us back in. Well, when all the hundreds of people were filing back in the up escalator was not working, so everyone was simply walking up them. There was a big backlog of people, so one of my friends suggested that we run up the down escalator. Okay! Would have been a good idea, and it was great up until I missed the last step and tripped. I am pretty bruised up on my left knee, have two teeth looking marks on my right foot, a bruised right elbow, and 10 stitches in my right knee. Yep, pure stupidity!
The fun thing was my friend is a nurse and she was working that night, so we went to visit her! Thanks Deanna for taking good care of me! It was a pretty eventful evening it and it just goes to show that it doesn't matter so much what you do, but it is more about the people you are with. Even though I spent my Friday evening in the ER it was still a pretty fun evening!

That is a pretty nasty looking cut you have there! It will make a great scar! Good job getting stitches though. Brent would have argued with me about that.
Looks like a fun year!
