This past Friday evening I went to movie night at a friend's house. After the movie we conducted an experiment... a test-tasting experiment involving Coke and Pepsi. I don't drink either, nor do I drink carbonation, so you may be surprised to learn that I participated. Anyway, the experiment was to determine which two cups were the same and which was different. Sounds easy enough, right?
And the results are....
Diana threw in the diets so she had a harder challenge. She was 5 for 6, not too shabby! Both Deanna and I were 0 of 3. Yep, my simple taste buds were not very good at this test. Kristin helped get everything ready and recorded the results.
Saturday we celebrated a friend's birthday by going out to eat and then enjoying some delicious cake afterwards!
So, it was a fun weekend. It's always nice to spend time with friends.
A friend of mine recently auditioned for and made the choir for the church she has joined. Last Sunday was their first performance, so I went to support her. I actually completely missed the choir portion since it took me 20 minutes to find a parking space and they performed in the first ten minutes of the service. I will have to make it there earlier next time! Anyway, I did stay for the service and while the speaker had a good message to share I couldn't help but think of President Hinckley's quote, "We don't downgrade any religion. We recognize the good they all do. I say to those of other faiths, you bring all the good that you have and let us see if we can add to it."
This past week I was thinking of what it is that sets our church apart, what it is that I would "add" to it if given the opportunity. I came up with a few things:
1. The pre-existance and the knowledge we have that we chose Heavenly Father's plan.
2. The first vision where we learn that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are two distinct persons.
3. The opportunity to have a member of the Godhead with us at all times through the Gift of the Holy Ghost.
4. The Prophet is the Lord's mouthpiece on this Earth.
5. The priesthood authority is on the Earth today.
6. Families can be together forever.
7. The covenant's and blessings received in the temple which will allow us to return to live with our Heavenly Father.
I often forget that this information is not common knowledge and that makes me sad. I have been blessed with a testimony of this church, I know these things are true. Now I just need to endure to the end....

I am still laughing at your taste testing. Before I even read it I thought, even if she does participate she will only get it right if it's a lucky guess! I wouldn't get any right either. I love that you tried though.. you crack me up. What a great friend you are to support your friend. You are amazing. Hope to talk to you soon. Loved the impromptu party you had. Always something fun going on. Love you!!
What an awesome testimony!
