7 Years

Hard to believe that 7 years ago today I started my career in contracting. I was young, timid, and had no idea what I got myself into!  It has been an eventful 7 years! Here are some of the highlights and memories from over the years:

- Traveled to several locations to attend classes and Conferences (yes Ryan, that was for you!)
- Helped plan the Christmas parties
- Increased morale in the office through decorations, quote board, tennis trophy

- SABER Lead
- Acting LGCB Team Lead
- Had my own office as the PWS Team Lead for the A-76 project
- Was at work past midnight on Sept 30th/Oct 1st
- Played in a lot of exercises
- Went golfing for the first time at a Squadron summer party

- Warranted Contracting Officer
- Have seen a lot planes take off
- Listened to a Holocaust survivor tell his story
- Listened to a POW tell his story
- Kuwait
- Received a lot of awards

- Begged (by my commander on one knee) to be the Squadron Resource Advisor
- Have more than doubled (tripled the year I was in Kuwait) my salary since I started 7 years ago.  Not too shabby, huh?
- Have been saluted
- Have been yelled at... literally in your face yelled at
- Attended a ton of ceremonies (Retirement, change of command, etc)
- Have been in a few different meetings where it is just little old me with a lot of big wigs
- Ate lunch with a General
- Received a tour of the location where the shuttles are put together
- Spent A LOT of money!!!

Mostly, I've just learned a lot, have met a lot of great people, and have enjoyed the journey.  Here's hoping for another 7 great years!
