Milestone

To most people 31 would not be a milestone, but to me it is pretty significant.  This is the magic number when I get booted from the singles ward, and part of me even looked forward to this day.  I was excited to go to a family ward where I don't have to feel so old hanging out with the 18-21 year olds! The other part of me is extremely sad.  Yes, singles wards has its quirks, but I have had many, many wonderful years in Maplewood thanks to all the amazing people I have had the opportunity to associate with and the callings I've held.  I have been strengthened through their friendship, through serving along side them, and from comments and testimonies shared each Sunday.  I will miss that.  I will miss my calling and being a part of planning and organizing activities that provide a way for people to meet, socialize, invite non-member friends, or providing a non-threatening way for less actives to come back into activity.  I have enjoyed watching people's lives change for the better and feel honored to think that I had a hand in bringing about that change.  While I look forward to the new adventures that await me, I cherish the memories and friendships made during my time at Maplewood.  I'm just glad I'm not moving so I will still get to see everyone, I just know it will not be as often.

The Saturday prior to my birthday we met up for dinner and then we were supposed to go to the Animal Preserve, but due to the bad rain I opted not to make people drive an hour with the chance it may be closed.  So, we heading back to my place and played games instead!

Marlies and Lance organized this party for me and did a fabulous job.  They even had a crossword puzzle created with 31 facts about me! If people got 31 correct they were considered a stalker, 21-30 are close friends who could provide some good dirt on me, 10-20 have a normal friendship with me, and those that got under 10 correct were simply there for the food! Too funny!

 My raisinette cake- so creative!

On my actual birthday a small group of us went to Elitch Gardens.

Then to the Cherry Cricket for dinner.

Then we took a stroll around Wash Park and enjoyed the beautiful evening! I finished up my birthday visiting with Heather until pretty late.  It was a fun day!

My b-day festivities continued on Saturday when I met up with J&K and the boys to watch Brave.  I then participated in the Moonlight Classic which is a midnight bike ride in Downtown Denver.  I got home at 2am.  It was worth it, but I am getting too old for this!!! :^)

Sounds like a great birthday! Any change is difficult, but I'm sure there will be good things happening in your new ward!

Have fun being inactive for a couple of weeks!

Happy Birthday to you!! It sounds like it was a good one.
I want to take the quiz to see what score I get :) I want to be in the stalker category.

I think you will have a great time in the Family Ward.

Love you lots!
