Catch-up Part 3: SLEEPLESS IN DENVER

· Thursday, 7 June—By the time I went to bed, after getting back to Denver so late, it was about 12:30 or 1:00am. Well, I had to be in Colorado Springs (which is a little over an hour away) that day for a class. My co-worker picked me up at 5:30am, so I had to be up by 4:30am. The class was decent and surprisingly enough I didn’t even fall asleep during class! · I got home from the Springs that evening around 6:00pm and it was time to get stuff together for the Relay for Life event which was the next day. I had to coordinate with people so I was sure everything was on board still. · That evening I also had to create a banner for the Relay, which meant I had to go buy the supplies. Jared, Katie, and I went to Party America and to Wal-Mart. Then I put Jared’s artistic talent to work as he helped me create the banner… Thanks Jared! · After the banner was finished around 11:00pm it was time to pack and make sure all my stuff was layed out for the next day… and the next day. I say I had to be prepared for both Friday and Saturday because both days were extremely busy and I wasn’t sure if I would be able to come home. So, I made it to bed by 1:30 and up at 4:30 so I could be to work early in order to leave early to get the last minute things together for the relay. · Friday, 8 June—Here is my schedule for Friday… Up at 4:30 so I could be to work by 6:00am. Worked until 3:00pm. Picked up a tent from the Carter’s. Went home to load my car so I could be over the relay by 4:30pm. Began setting up my camp at 4:30pm in time for the event kick-off at 6:00pm. Stayed up all night…literally (I will explain more detail about the Relay in Part 4). I got a total of 20 minutes of sleep Friday night. · Saturday, 9 June—Cleaned up the camp and had just enough time to shower before heading out the door to my mandatory graduation rehearsal. I went straight from graduation rehearsal to the temple (I began my work in the baptistery). Then at 1:20pm I drove home and was then able to crash for 2 hours before I had to be up and running again! · The baptistery is going to be very enjoyable. They threw a lot at me in a short amount of time, so I hope I can remember it all- especially since I was kind of out of it because of lack of sleep! · Saturday evening (after my 2 hour, very refreshing, and very needed, nap) I was off to the store to buy a dessert and then head to my ward BBQ. That was a lot of fun. After the BBQ I went to a church dance at the cannery. I don’t like the dancing part so much, but it was fun to visit with people who I don’t often have the chance to see! · I made it home from the dance at 11:30pm and slept from Midnight until 8:00am… it felt so nice!
